本作は、世界各地の神話に見られる “色の神格化” をテーマとし、その中でもチベット仏教における五方佛（青・黄・赤・白・緑）から着想を得て制作した木彫作品です。
五色はそれぞれ如来の智慧と宇宙原理を象徴し、古来より “色そのものが力を持つ” という考え方の根源に存在してきました。

本作の特徴であるキューブ状の頭部は、仏像において最も強く存在意義を示す「頭（こうべ）」を、あえてモザイク化されたドットの集合として表現しています。
これにより、特定の宗教イメージに縛られず、色と光のエネルギーそのものが“神性”として立ち上がるような、より原初的で普遍的な存在性を目指しました。

多層の色彩が寄り集まり、積み重なりながら立ち上がる姿は、
世界に満ちる多様なエネルギーがひとつの中心へと収束していく象徴でもあります。
宗教を越え、文化を越え、色が放つ根源的な力をかたちとして顕現させた作品です。

This wood sculpture is based on the theme of the deification of color, a concept found in mythologies across the world.
Among these traditions, the work draws particular inspiration from the Five Tathāgatas of Tibetan Buddhism—blue, yellow, red, white, and green—each representing a distinct wisdom and a fundamental cosmic principle.
These five colors have long been regarded as embodiments of spiritual power, forming the foundation of the idea that color itself possesses force.

The cube-shaped head, a defining feature of this piece, reinterprets the most symbolically significant part of a Buddhist statue—the kōbe, or sacred head.
Rather than depicting it in a traditional form, it is rendered as an assembly of mosaic-like pixels.
This approach frees the work from specific religious imagery and instead allows color and light themselves to emerge as the primary expressions of divinity, aiming for a more primordial and universal presence.

The layered, accumulating colors rising upward symbolize the convergence of the world’s diverse energies into a single center.
Transcending religion and culture, this work gives shape to the elemental power that color has carried since ancient times.
